Inspired by the problem illegal tanneries in the River Ganga, I embarked on a research project optimizing the TiO2–led photocatalytic degradation of Methylene Blue dye by introducing additional oxidizing species such as Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2). By optimizing the environmentally-harmless but inefficient photocatalysis process, this allows for faster treatment times and thus increasing its prospective applications in industry.
My paper has been selected to present at both the prestigious American Chemical Society Fall 2024 in Denver, CO as well as the MIT Undergraduate Research Technology Conference in Cambridge, MA.
